Entertainment Management

The personal manager’s primary job function is to provide guidance, counsel and advice to the artist. The personal manager is expected to advise the artist in all facets of the artist’s career, including the following areas:

Selection of Material – This includes making sure that my clients chose the proper script, the right song or the appropriate staging, scenery and lighting.  Each client is unique and each one’s needs are independent and subjective.  What is best for one, is not always the best for another.

Selection of Costumes – Image is everything. Your image is important.  I can assist you in chosing the proper makeup, wardrobe, styling and accessories.  My goal is to help you stand out in the crowd and to be unique.

Selection of Personnel – I can help the artist chose the proper support services.  This can include everything from recommending the proper booking agent, publicist, accountant, attorney, record producer, backup musicians, stage or road managers, promoter, tech. crew and other individuals.  I can help you find the right people to make your business and art thrive in the best way for you.

Selection of the Proper Vehicle – What is the best record label for you? What is the right television series, theatre, stadium, venue or city for your act? What is the best way to get your message to the public?

Personal Management – A manager also plays whatever personal role you desire or need. This could be anything from your confident, to your counsellor to your friend.  There are many stresses and tensions associated with the entertainment industry and artists typically find themselves faces various pressures and influences.

Representation with Third Parties such as record companies, motion pictures and television, and legitimate stage – It is seldom wise for an artist to deal directly with third parties concerning their business affairs.  A manager acts as the artist representative (along with an agent or attorney) in negotiations and deal making with third parties.  With record companies a manager assists with developing the artists relationship with the record company by serving as a liason to make sure the artists needs are being met.  With motion pictures and television, the manager negotiates with producers, directors, writers, distributors, theatres, unions, agencies, just to name a few.  On the stage, a manager negotiates with theatre managers, investors and the large array of administartive personnel whose efforts are used in putting together a live stage production.
